What is the NC100 Archery Triathlon?

This unique format combines three distinct archery tournament styles to test archers' abilities to shoot in various conditions. The Triathlon consists of:

- A FITA Outdoor 300 25M Round (10 ends of 3 arrows)

- A Quarter NFAA Field Course (7 targets, 4 arrows each)

- A Partial IBO Known 3D Round (15 targets, 1 arrow each)

Alongside the Triathlon events, the bonus 100-Yard Challenge event will also be offered, making this a fun-filled day of flinging arrows, whatever your preferred format is! To sweeten the deal, Cash Prizes will be awarded for each Triathlon Event, to an overall Triathlon winner, and to a bonus event winner.

Don't think you can shoot that many arrows? Is field archery not your thing? No problem - shoot in as many or as few events as you want and you'll still be eligible to win the prizes for those events. The NC100 Archery Triathlon is open for all archers - any age, any bow type, any skill level. A Beginner's option with its own prize will be available for new or less confident archers.

The majority of the money collected as registration fees will go back to the archers in the form of prizes.

- Registration Fee for all Archers = $40

Triathlon Events

Overview

- Archers are encouraged to shoot in all events, but may choose to skip some if they prefer. If an archer skips event(s), they will not be in the running for the All-Around Archery Triathlete Prize, however they will still be eligible to be named Champion for the event(s) they do participate in.

- The order listed below is required for optimal flow around the venue. Event 1 to Event 2 to Event 3 to Event 1.

- Archers will be put into groups of at least 3. Groups will be assigned starting locations which will be provided at check-in. Groups are expected to stick together during the Triathlon events, even if a group member chooses not to shoot a particular event.

- Groups are to report to their starting locations by 9:30AM or 10:30AM. A Triathlon Coordinator will verify all groups are in position on the Field and 3D courses. Shooting will commence once the verification is complete at the signal of an air horn.

- Breaks may be taken between events at the discretion of the archers.

- The same bow setup and arrows must be used for all events.

- The indoor range may be used for warmup before official shooting begins.

- The full Triathlon circuit consists of 73 scoring arrows for a max possible score of 605 points.

- Scorecards are to be turned in at Registration by 3:30PM.

- Cash prizes will be awarded for each event and to overall winners at 4PM.

Event 1 – FITA Outdoor 300 25M Round (30 arrows, max 300 points)

- Archers will shoot 10 ends of 3 arrows for score at their choice of a 60cm vertical three spot, or a 60cm single-spot target face.

- Two ends of practice will be provided on the outdoor range for the archers starting at this event. Archers arriving who have already completed other event(s) will go directly into scoring ends.

- Start of shooting will be staggered by one end by bale for the archers beginning at this event. This is to prevent bottlenecks at the other events.

- After finishing, archers will proceed to Event 2.

Event 2 – Quarter NFAA Field Course (28 arrows, max 140 points)

- Archers will shoot 4 arrows per target at 7 targets for score.

- All targets will be Field faces with distances marked.

- Distances range from 10 yards to 64 yards depending on the target and the age of the archer. Younger archers will shoot from closer stakes.

- For simplicity and to level the playing field across age groups, fans and walkups will be omitted. Archers will always shoot from the farthest stake for their age group.

- Course will begin near the parking lot entry and end in the woods at the start of the 3D course for Event 3.

- After finishing, archers will proceed to Event 3.

Event 3 – Partial IBO Known 3D Round (15 arrows, max 165 points)

- Archers will shoot 1 arrow per target at 15 targets for score.

- Archers will be provided distances for all targets and rangefinders are allowed.

- Archers will shoot from stakes where the max distance is based on their age. Younger archers will shoot from closer stakes. The max distance for adults is 50 yards.

- After finishing Event 3, archers will have the option to shoot in the 100-Yard Challenge

Bonus Event - 100-Yard Challenge

- Included in the registration fee are 5 shots at the 100-Yard Challenge.

- Archers must shoot an 8-inch diameter dot from 100 yards. Archers aged 14 and under may shoot from 65 yards.

- For every arrow in the dot, archers earn 1 raffle ticket in the drawing for the 100-Yard Challenge prize.

- Additional shots are $1 per shot, and the collected funds will be added to the 100-Yard Challenge Prize Pot.

- The NC100 Board has donated $100, $1 for every yard, to the 100-Yard Challenge Prize Pot.

- Archers may take unlimited additional shots at any time before 3:45PM.

- The winner will be announced at 4PM with the rest of the awards.

Beginner's Class

- A Beginner’s Class will be available for new or less confident archers. Alternatively, archers looking to shoot for fun without competing may also register in the Beginner's Class.

- Those signing up as a Beginner will be able to shoot in all events, except the 100-Yard Challenge, at any distance they feel comfortable with, so long as the selected shooting position does not compromise the safety of the Triathlon.

- The Beginner’s Class applies to all events – participants can not be designated as a Beginner for some events but not others.

- Beginner’s Class archers will not be eligible for any prizes other than the Beginner’s Luck Prize, which will be a random drawing from the pool of Beginner's Class archers.

- Registration fees for the Beginner's Class are the same as listed above.

Prizes

- The majority of the money collected as registration fees will go back to the archers in the form of prizes.

- All money collected for additional shots at the 100-Yard Challenge will be added to the 100-Yard Challenge Prize.

- Triathlon event prizes will be divided for Compound, Recurve, and Barebow classes based on the percentage of each discipline that attends. If a small amount of Olympic Recurve and/or Barebow shooters participate, those classes may be combined.

- A single archer may win multiple or all events.

- Winners will be announced and given prizes at 4PM. You do not need to be present to receive your prize.
